The Practice
Systematic Kriya Yoga breath and concentration practice spanning more than three decades.
The Intersection of Ambition and Inner Space
Bridging the systematic practice of Kriya Yoga with exploratory neuro-analytics.
You may have built a successful professional life and still feel that something inward is unfinished. Kriya Yoga offers a traditional, teacher-guided path of practice and self-reflection alongside the responsibilities of everyday life.

The modern paradox
You conquered the room. You met every standard. But did you find yourself in the noise?

The day begins before the body has caught up.

Discipline becomes another measure of performance.

Composed outside. Pulled in every direction within.

The applause is real. So is the unanswered question.
“Real success is not only what you build outside. It is the return to who you actually are.”

The Quantitative Neuro-Analytics of Stillness
The MindBalance framework proposes a mathematically explicit approach to interpreting EEG spectral power through the Sāṅkhya–Triguṇa model. It treats Sattva, Rajas and Tamas as continuous, compositional model variables rather than clinical diagnoses.
Presented paper: Sāṅkhya-Informed Cognitive AI: A Scientific Framework for Designing the MindBalance EEG Wearable, by Kirit Goyal (New Delhi Institute of Management) and Palash Goyal (University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA). Author affiliations are those listed in the paper; they do not imply university endorsement of the programme.
The paper reports approximately 78 million EEG epochs from more than 4,000 individuals across meditation, cognitive-task, rest and fatigue states.
The reported dataset uses a 250 Hz sampling rate and 2.4-second windows—approximately 1,500 epochs per hour.
Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta and Gamma band powers are normalized, weighted into raw guṇa scores, then normalized again so S + R + T = 1 at each time window. The resulting vector lies on the probability 2-simplex.
| Recorded state | Mean S | Mean R | Mean T |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deep meditation | 0.62–0.75 | 0.15–0.25 | 0.05–0.15 |
| Focused task | 0.30–0.45 | 0.45–0.60 | 0.10–0.20 |
| Fatigue | 0.15–0.30 | 0.10–0.25 | 0.50–0.70 |
These are the authors’ reported ranges, not diagnostic cutoffs, independent replications or guaranteed individual outcomes. Range endpoints describe separate observations and are not a single simultaneous S/R/T vector.
The paper states that these observations do not constitute clinical validation. Its limitations include using EEG as a proxy for complex mental phenomena, exploratory datasets and the need for longitudinal validation.

The Kriya–Triguṇa Dynamic
From philosophical qualities to interpretable model variables.
MindBalance models cognitive balance as a changing composition. The paper defines normalized band powers for Delta (0.5–4 Hz), Theta (4–8 Hz), Alpha (8–13 Hz), Beta (13–30 Hz) and Gamma (30–45 Hz).
The proposed raw score combines Delta power with half the Theta power. The paper reports Mean T of 0.50–0.70 in fatigue states. This is not a diagnosis of biological burnout.
The proposed raw score combines Beta power with half the Gamma power. The paper reports Mean R of 0.45–0.60 during focused tasks. These values do not by themselves identify executive stress or anxiety.
The proposed raw score combines 0.5 × Theta, 1.0 × Alpha and 0.2 × Beta power. The paper reports Mean S of 0.62–0.75 during deep meditation, without establishing a guaranteed effect of First Kriya training.
Each raw score is divided by the sum of all three raw scores to obtain S, R and T. The paper defines the Cognitive Balance Index as CBI = S − (R + T). This index belongs to the proposed model; it is not an independently validated clinical measure.
First Kriya remains a teacher-guided contemplative practice. EEG observations can support discussion and reflection without proving the content of a person’s experience or promising strategic performance.

A considered approach for people accustomed to responsibility.
This work offers room for personal inquiry alongside the demands of building organizations. First Kriya is approached as a teacher-guided contemplative discipline, without a promise of professional advantage, a neurological diagnosis or a guaranteed result.
Private engagements make space for practice, questions and reflection. Research observations are discussed separately from the practitioner’s own account of experience.

An Exclusive Residential Neuro-Cognitive Intensive at The Belgadia Palace
Baripada, Odisha · Four days · Restricted to 9 participants
A four-day residency designed for international founders, executives and institutional leaders, with a planned group limit of nine participants. The programme brings teacher-guided practice into conversation with exploratory EEG research and the cultural heritage of Mayurbhanj.
Daily personal guidance in First Kriya with Kirit Goyal. With Master Per H. Wibe’s permission, I teach First Kriya.
Individual EEG observation sessions using the MindBalance research framework, subject to consent and confirmed programme arrangements. No diagnostic or guaranteed cognitive outcome is offered.
Planned cultural experiences include Mayurbhanj Chhau, one of the regional styles of the UNESCO-listed Chhau dance tradition, and encounters with Dokra lost-wax metal artisans. Performance and artisan visits are coordinated with local hosts.
Participation is limited to nine people. Accommodation allocation, programme dates and cultural activities are confirmed directly with accepted applicants; an application does not reserve a place.
